Project Focus
When the opportunity came up to photograph a G Adventures tour across Japan, it was one I couldn’t say no to. Japan – and Tokyo in particular – had been at the very top of my travel bucket list for years, so being able to experience it while doing what I love made the project especially meaningful.
The aim was to document the journey as naturally as possible, capturing not just the iconic landmarks and incredible scenery, but the moments in between that often tell the best stories.
Travelling with a group of strangers who quickly became friends, I focused on the shared experiences, spontaneous conversations, cultural discoveries and genuine emotions that unfolded over the 11-day trip.
The result is a collection of photographs that reflect the beauty of Japan, the joy in adventure and leaping into the unknown, and the unforgettable experience of exploring it together.
